What comes to mind when you think of Cybersecurity ?
You might think of...
Hackers!
Black Hoodies
Data theft!
Fear!
Data Breach!

This is no coincidence..
If you Google the word "Cybersecurity", dark techy and fear mongering images show up. Much like the first version of my mood board.
Many companies follow this trend in their designs shown in my competitive analysis

Cybersecurity is more than a hacker in a black hoodie.
RevolutionCyber makes cybersecurity...
Fun but not carnival
User-friendly but not elementary
Trustworthy but not bragging
Professional but not Intimidating
Hacking into the mainframe...
It was time to use heuristics analysis and usability testing to expose "threats" to a seamless experience

Assumption without Validation can be the Trojan Horse to your Process
We assumed that RevolutionCyber would follow the fear narrative without actually validating with the client first.

Results of assuming
-
Breach in my planning
-
major pivot that impacted the timeline
-
Changing the mood board, imagery and color palette to be more positive
-
Restarting the ideation process for the low - mid - fidelity wireframes
Lesson learned
ALWAYS validate branding and direction with a client before proceeding with the design. This can result in being more efficient, preventing confusion and a client that feels understood.

Rebooting the Design Process
Research, Re-design, Rinse and Repeat
After hours of "decrypting" all of the information given to us and a branding clarification meeting from the client, it was time to transform the website yet again but this time more positive
