Candidly Connecting is actively trying to help adults speak to the children in their life about diversity and inclusion.

Studying the User's Journey

Before giving my suggestions, I wanted to really map out the user's journey to get a visual understanding of their experience.

Insights 

Although users were initially excited about the mission of the company, it didn’t meet their expectations. Users were confused on what they offered, who it was for, who would facilitate it, and value of the product.

"I kinda feel like it’s a scavenger hunt, tabs need to be more direct to find workbook"

A way to star favorite content in “My Library” needs clearer wording

“They said they posted on Social Media in the video but I didn’t see it- Maybe followers can suggest a topic for the month to make them feel like they’re part of the conversation

My Recommendations to Client

Recommendations:

  • Add Value:

    • Have a free trial version to help users better understand the value of product

    •  Offer live Q&As with experts

    •  Provide physical materials like coloring books for parents to create an atmosphere to have difficult conversations with kids.   

  • Eliminate Confusion:

    • ​Organize into “Topics” 

    • Connect with educators to help build a curriculum

    • Make program materials more clear, add transcripts 

    • Shorter lesson and break down vocabulary.

  • Include the Community
    • Invite people into the conversation via social media​
